Welcome to Awaji for the 10th AIFII!
On behalf of the organizing committee, I would like to welcome all of you to the 10th Awaji International Forum on Infection and Immunity (AIFII). This forum has been held annually with a mission to provide an opportunity to share and exchange new results and ideas among basic and clinical scientists on Bacteriology, Parasitology, Virology, and Immunology since 2001. This year, we are very pleased to mark its tenth anniversary and have Keynote Lectures in addition to Oral and Poster Sessions and Training Courses for young scientists. The 10th AIFII is promoted in cooperation with the US-Japan Cooperative Medical Science Program on Immunology, the US-Japan Cooperative Medical Science Program on AIDS, and "Matrix of Infection Phenomena", a Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research on Priority Areas, Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT). We anticipate that this forum can contribute to advance in elucidation of host-pathogen interaction and encourage progress of young scientists on Infection and Immunity. I would be happy if all the participants could really enjoy this forum with fruitful discussion in the relaxed environment of the Awaji Island.
